Sony In High-Res Promo

SAN DIEGO – Sony is following up last year’s high-resolution audio marketing campaign with a cross-promotional campaign featuring a pair of high-resolution audio products and the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga album Cheek To Cheek.

The new campaign launched Sept. 23 and will run through early 2015. It targets 23 million impressions with a mix of digital and print advertising in both music- and audiocentric publications and research portals.

Hafler Back Home

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Canadian pro-audio supplier Radial Engineering is bringing the audiophile Hafler brand back to the consumer-audio market.

Radial purchased the brand earlier this year from car-audio supplier Rockford Corp., which had purchased the brand in 1987 and focused on pro amplifiers for music studios, Radial said. The brand has been dormant for more than a decade, Radial said.

Best Buy Adds SVS

GIRARD, OOHIO – Speaker maker SVS, founded in 1998 as a direct seller of subwoofers to consumers, continues to expand its dealer base with the addition of Magnolia Design Centers in Best Buy stores. With the addition, SVS speakers and subs are sold through about 100 retail accounts. Magnolia will sell the company’s subs.

Play-Fi Gets SiriusXM

CALABASAS, CALIF. — DTS added SiriusXM streaming to the selection of Internet music services available through wireless multizone-audio systems incorporating the company’s Play-Fi technology.

Play-Fi systems already access Pandora, Songza, and V Tuner in the U.S., where they will also access Deezer when available in in the U.S.
