
Now it’s AT&T’s turn to give away a free Samsung TV.
The company began today to offer a free 48-inch Samsung smart TV to purchasers of Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge smartphone in a bid to build the subscriber bases of its wireless network and DirecTV.
Last December, Sprint offered a free 32-inch Samsung TVs with a Samsung phone purchase.
Under AT&T’s offer, consumers are eligible for the free TV if they buy one of the Samsung phones on a Next installment-payment plan, switch to AT&T wireless service, and sign up for DirecTV or already have DirecTV. Current AT&T subscribers are also eligible if they sign up for DirecTV. People who are ineligible are current AT&T subscribers who are current DirecTV subscribers.

For seven days last December, Sprint gave a free 32-inch Samsung TV to consumers who switched to Sprint and to current Sprint subscribers who upgraded a phone or added a new line. Eligible phones were the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5.
