Altec Lansing Plans A Pair Of Bluetooth Speakers

MILFORD, PA. — Altec Lansing plans spring shipments of its latest two portable Bluetooth speakers, the $149-suggested disco-ball-style Sphere 360 and the $199 floatable BoomJacket.

The Sphere 360 is a softball-size spherical speaker delivering 360-degree sound and wrapped in multicolor LED lights. Lighting patterns can be changed with the press of a button on top of the speaker. The battery lasts 10 hours with music playing and lights flashing.

The Boom Jacket, like its predecessor, comes with washable heavy-duty rubberized skin that is IP67-rated for its water-proof, dust-proof and shock-resistant abilities. It floats and can be submersed in water. It adds improved sound, elliptical shape, and 40 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, twice that of its predecessor. It features dual 2-inch neodymium drivers, a passive radiator, DSP audio enhancement, and AptX over Bluetooth. It measures 7.5 by 3.1 by 2.8 inches.
