Hauppauge, N.Y. – An automotive black box from VOXX Electronics will enable car-dealer expediters to add aftermarket navigation to factory infotainment systems without replacing the factory head unit or in-dash display.
Through the Advent car-dealer line, the company is offering its first three systems that car dealers can sell to add navigation capabilities to factory head units in select 2013-2015 Cadillac, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Buick and Chevrolet vehicles. The boxes retain all factory features with no modifications to the factory radio, VOXX said. And they’re plug-and-play.
The systems are available through the company’s expediter/car-dealer network and to select installing dealers.

The Advent systems feature iGo Primo 8 nav technology with U.S. and Canada maps. A “latest map guarantee” lets users update maps via USB, similar to factory map upgrades. iGo software includes 3D mapping, more than 11 million POIs, turn-by-turn voice-guided directions, and a green feature to help drivers save gas. The systems also feature backup-camera input and two additional A/V inputs to connect additional audio and video sources. All systems will integrate with OE camera if installed.
