Acer Unveils Slate Of PCs, Monitors and Projectors

LAS VEGAS – Acer will unveil during International CES 2015 a range of new notebook and convertible products for the coming year, including the industry’s first 15.6-inch Chromebook.

The company will also show an Aspire notebook with Intel’s RealSense 3D camera, a FullHD short-throw projector and the first NVIDA G-SYNC enabled gaming monitor.

In Chromebooks, Acer is showing the Chromebook 15, billed by Acer as “the industry’s first Chromebook with a 15.6-inch display” and first Chromebook with a new Fifth Generation Intel processor. With prices starting at a $249 suggested retail, several display options will be available including FullHD and HD (1366 by 768 resolution) and all-day eight hour battery life.

Acer is also announcing that its Chromebook 13 line will be available with new touchscreen-enabled models.

Acer will also show its Acer V 17 Nitro notebook PC featuring the advanced Intel RealSense 3D camera, which can understand and respond to natural movement in three dimensions.  The notebook will allow interacting with games, opening web pages or navigating applications without touching the notebook’s keyboard or mouse.  It also enables 3D scanning, 3D model generating and printing on a 3D printer.

Acer said its Aspire R 13 series convertibles will now offer Fifth Generation Intel Core processors, in addition to the Aspire S7 Ultrabook and the 2-in-1 Switch 12, for improved performance, graphics, and battery life. Ultrafast 802.11ac wireless technology was also added. 

Acer’s H7550ST short-throw projector will deliver 1080p Full HD resolution along with 20 watts of stereo audio and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The unit is also billed as the “first projector to provide internal Chromecast wireless dongle compatibility.”  Sound is enhanced with DTS Sound, and can be delivered wirelessly to a Bluetooth headset, speaker or sound bar. 

In monitors, Acer is unveiling its XB270HU NVIDIA G-SYNC enabled gaming monitor with an IPS display that offers consistent, clear images from 178-degree wide viewing angles. The Acer XG270HU also offers an edge-to-edge frameless display for seamless viewing and quick 1ms response time.
