The LG Smart InstaView Refrigerator is embedded with an array of features provided by Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service and powered by LG’s own webOS smart platform. This new refrigerator technology quite literally changes the way consumers look at their food: The 29-inch touch LCD glass panel located on the right door illuminates with two quick knocks, allowing users to see inside without opening the door to reduce cold air loss. Additionally, LG’s Door-in-Door feature help keep food organized in its front-facing compartment for quick, easy access to beverages and snacks. With webOS, users can explore a host of Wi-Fi-enabled features directly on the fridge, creating a streamlined and powerful food management system. Amazon’s Alexa enables consumers to play music, search recipes, place Amazon Prime-eligible orders from Amazon.com, add items to a shopping list and more, turning their daily tasks in the kitchen into a more dynamic experience. To check inside the Smart InstaView remotely, a 2-megapixel panoramic super-wide-lens camera captures interior images from a variety of angles which are accessible via smartphone. The fridge’s Smart Tag menu allows users to add stickers and tags on the screen to indicate which foods are stored as well as the ability to input the expiration date of each item. Users can also set up memos and create to-do lists.
