Over a thousand residents of Raymondville, Texas have signed a petition asking Wal-Mart to spare their local store, which was one of 154 redundant or otherwise unproductive locations the discounter has marked for closure in the U.S.
“The Facebook petition had collected 1,191 signatures as of 6 p.m. Monday. Organizers say the petition will go to Walmart President Doug McMillon. Signatures were still being collected Monday night. The petition says the store’s closure would pose a “burden” for residents within a 25-mile radius.”
