A who's who of tech-industry CEOs including Tim Cook (Apple), Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Satya Nadella (Microsoft) are spending the day at the White House to discuss ways to improve government security, services and efficiency through science. Notable for their absence from the first Jared Kishner-led American Technology Council meeting is Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (boardmember Peter Thiel will be there instead) and Tesla CEO Elon Musk due to political differences with the Trump administration.
"What a difference six months can make. In December 2016, tech's most famous faces flocked to Trump Tower for their first roundtable with then-President-elect Donald Trump. The meeting had a genial tone, as tech leaders joked with Trump and seemed committed to playing nice and working toward the greater good."
