FCC Reverses Proposal For Cellphone Use On Planes

Federal regulators are withdrawing a proposal that would have allowed air travelers to use their cellphones at high altitude.

“Taking it off the table permanently will be a victory for Americans across the country who, like me, value a moment of quiet at 30,000 feet,” FCC chairman Ajit Pai said. He did not elaborate on why he chose this moment to act.
