The head of Amazon’s fledgling B-to-B unit testified in federal court yesterday that the e-tailer is no threat to Staples’ or Office Depot’s commercial sales, supporting an FTC suit that seeks to block the chains’ pending merger.
“An executive with Amazon.com Inc’s (AMZN.O) unit that sells office supplies to businesses gave testimony on Tuesday that appeared to bolster a U.S. regulator’s wariness over a potential merger of Staples Inc (SPLS.O) and Office Depot Inc (ODP.O).”
