Target has reopened Open House, its IoT concept showroom, following an extensive seven-week renovation in San Francisco. According to consumer IoT VP Gene Han, the updates include a new slew of smart products; a new arrangement of category-specific rooms and “experiences”; a revamped event space to house meetings with start-ups; and a new software tool for submitting products and receiving customer feedback and analytics on traffic, product interactions and sales.
Visitors are encouraged to test-drive the live product displays.

The “kitchen” room of the concept house features Drop’s connected kitchen scale, and is lorded over by Amazon’s Echo (right).
The new “garage” space provides a retail-shelf tryout for 16 smart products, Han said.
