Los Gatos, Calif. – Zepp Labs today has made available an app-powered multi-sport sensor and sports-specific mounts to track training data and improve performance.

The company is releasing three sports-specific packages, Zepp Baseball, Zepp Golf and Zepp Tennis, containing a sensor and a mount which attach to a bat, golf glove or racket, respectively, and deliver performance data such as swing speed, trajectory and tempo to the app running on a portable device.

The Zepp 3D motion sensor is about one-inch square, less than half an inch thick and weighs 6.3 grams. It is constructed of a rubber exterior and shock-resistant core. Each sensor contains an ARM processor, multiple motion sensors and a rechargeable battery for up to 8 hours of use.

Using  sport-specific mounts, the Zepp sensor attaches to any baseball or softball bat, tennis racket or golf glove. It captures 1,000 data points per second and transfers the data to a user’s smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth.

The products were designed in consultation with players and coaches of all levels including professionals from the San Francisco Giants, PGA Tour and ATP, Zepp CEO Jason Fass told TWICE during a demo of the products.

“Building on the success of our first product, GolfSense, and the tremendous growth in the smart sensor category, we are thrilled to bring the new Zepp sports platform to market,” said Fass, “We’ve built a system that delivers helpful data and instant feedback to athletes and coaches allowing them to analyze and improve their game like never before. The new sensor and dedicated sport apps are the first step in our mission to change the way people practice, play, and experience the sports they love.”

Zepp Baseball is designed to analyze and improve a user's swing using 3D motion capture data. The data is displayed ton the app's GUI and allows replay and review of each swing in 360 degrees from any angle. Data captured includes bat speed -- how fast the barrel of the bat is moving at impact -- as well as bat angle at impact and time spent in the hitting zone. Detailed analysis and trend reports can be generated to track progress over time. It stores up to 2,000 swings on the sensor and unlimited swings in the Cloud.

Fass said Zepp Baseball is ideal for coaches because additional mounts can be purchased for $9.99 each, meaning all one has to do is swap out the sensor on each successive batter's bat. The app can track multiple users.

Zepp Golf is the evolution of Zepp's first product, the GolfSense 3D golf swing analyzer system. Zepp Golf allows the replay and review of each swing in 360 degrees from any angle and compares the shape of the backswing to the downswing. It tracks club speed at impact, swing tempo of backswing vs. downswing, the angle of the club shaft at the top of a backswing, and hip rotation and combines the data into an overall swing score. It stores up to 2,000 swings on the sensor and unlimited swings in the Cloud.

Zepp Tennis tracks number of forehands, backhands, serves and smashes hit, power generated with each stroke, topspin, slice and flat shots hit by shot type, total amount of time  spent on the court and the active time spent playing points and rallying. Swing data can be shared or compared with others. It stores up to 200,000 swings on the sensor and unlimited swings in the cloud.

Zepp Baseball, Zepp Golf and Zepp Tennis are available for purchase starting today on zepp.com for $149.99 each. All three products will be available for purchase in Apple Stores nationwide starting Nov. 19 and in select Verizon Stores starting Nov. 21.

Additional mounts for each sport will be available for purchase soon on zepp.com for $9.99.

The company has also released a demo video for each product: Zepp Baseball, Zepp Tennis, Zepp Golf.
