Zeiss Adds Touit 32mm f/1.8 Lens For Fuji X Cameras

OBERKOCHEN, GERMANY — Precision lens manufacturer Zeiss recently released its Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8 lens ($900 estimated street retail) for use with Fujifilm X-mount series mirrorless compact system cameras.

The normal-length prime lens is designed for use with APS-C-sized image sensors, producing a 48mm equivalent image size on 35mm equipment.

This lens supports all camera functions on Fujifilm X-series mirrorless camera models, including autofocus and exposure control.

The lens’ Planar design is said to “inherently correct for most aberrations and distortion while offering high overall sharpness and image clarity.”

Additionally, Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coatings have been applied to all lens surfaces to reduce reflections, lens flare and ghosting to produce imagery with high contrast and color fidelity, the company said.

The lens features a metal lens barrel with rubberized control rings. A rigid metal bayonet mount is said to offer accurate alignment. A nearly circular nine-blade aperture works to produce an aesthetic out-of-focus highlight quality.
