Santa Clara, Calif. — YesVideo announced its new YesDVD Generator software-only solution for automated, in-store DVD transfers last week.
The product, which ships in June for a $3,200, is based on software developed for the YesDVD Generator minilab system and enables retailers to use existing DVD burning and photofinishing equipment to produce DVDs from digital camera memory cards or camcorder videotapes with same-day service.
The software-only solution supports D8, Hi8, 8mm, SVHS, VHS, VHS-C and MiniDV formats, in addition to CD/DVD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SmartMedia, SD, MMC, xD-Picture Card, and USB flash drives.
The software automatically creates chapter scenes and an onscreen chapter menu with thumbnail images representing each chapter. It can also produce three music videos pulling video highlights from the consumer’s video in addition to a custom DVD case coversheet with thumbnail images from each chapter of the video.
In May, YesVideo will roll out a Digital Scrapbook feature which will load multimedia editing software onto a DVD.
