New York — XM and Sirius Satellite Radio announced in separate statements that they surpassed their respective year-end targets for subscribers.
XM said it passed the 3.1 million subscriber mark and Sirius said it reached over one million subscribers.
Sirius credited “robust holiday sales” helped by “aggressive marketing, advertising, and an increase in consumer awareness.”
Last year at this time, Sirius reported 200,000 subscribers while XM claimed over a million.
