plans
first-quarter availability of an ATSC-Mobile/Handheld video system for the car
at a suggested $799, including car-mounting kit.
Called
, the system
consists of a 10.2-inch 800 by 480 touchscreen, embedded TV antenna, and universal,
clamp-style headrest mount, which delivers 12-volt power and fits 90 percent of
new vehicle models without professional installation, the company said. An
embedded FM modulator plays back audio through a car’s existing sound system. The
system also comes with wireless headphones and IR remote.
Other features include embedded CD/DVD player,
Apple-certified iPod/iPhone USB connection, and portable media player (PMP)
capabilities to play a range of audio and video formats. It also has an SD card
slot and USB port.
The device can also be powered by an AC power adapter in the
home or by an optional five-hour rechargeable battery back for portable use.
A QuickLink mating connector allows CioTv to plug into
either an optional CioTv home-counter stand or the optional CioTv battery pack
.
The product will be displayed at International CES.
