New York – With less than two weeks remaining before Windows 8 is officially released, several retailers have begun taking pre-orders for the new operating system.
Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy and others are among the first retailers that have started taking pre-orders for the software, which begins shipping on Oct. 26.
Pricing is $69 for Windows 8 Pro and the 32- and 64-bit full versions are on sale for $99.
Those owning computers running Windows XP, Vista and 7 can upgrade to Windows 8. Those who recently bought a new computer running Windows 7 can upgrade to Windows 8 for $15.
