St. George, Utah — Wilson Electronics, a maker of cellphone signal boosters, has named Robert Van Buskirk as president/CEO and to its board.
Jim Wilson, the company’s founder, has stepped down as CEO but remains a member of the board. A spokesman for the company told TWICE that Wilson “will still be very involved in the growth of the company through his seat on the board and work with the engineering team, but he was ready to step down from the day-to-day decision making required of a CEO.”
Van Buskirk was most recently president of RF Micro Device’s multi-market products group, according to Wilson Electronics.
“We are delighted to have attracted someone with the depth and breadth of experience as Bob. Along with his proven leadership, Bob brings the technology, RF and wireless industry experience, management insight and the personal attributes necessary to drive Wilson Electronics through the next phase of profitable growth,” said Jim Wilson in a statement.
Van Buskirk said in the statement his focus will be to accelerate the company’s global market penetration.
