New York — Peter Wellikoff has been appointed to the new position of Meridian America CEO.
Wellikoff was COO of media-server maker Sooloos, which Meridian recently acquired. He reports directly to Meridian Group CEO Tim Ireland in the U.K.
In a related change, Meridian America’s head office will be based in New York City, where Sooloos had its headquarters. Meridian will continue to use its Atlanta facilities for distribution, service-center functions, and finance, the company said.
The company did not say when or if other positions would move to New York, but a spokeswoman said marketing would be directed out of New York while sales would be directed out of Atlanta.
Wellikoff was president of The B&W Group’s North American operation for 12 years before leaving in late 2007. He later joined Sooloos.
Meridian America’s president remains Walter Schofield.
