Lake Forest, Calif. — Western Digital (WD), as a sponsor of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, has introduced pink WD Passport portable drives.
The company is also making a donation to the organization.

The plug-and-play drives weigh less than 5 ounces and are available at capacities including 250GB and 1TB.

According to a release, WD Sync software simplifies the synchronization of personal files including on a PC. The drive data is protected with 128-bit encryption.

The drives also feature a collection of Google software. Users are said to be able to quickly locate files with the Google Desktop Search tool and manage photos with Google’s Picasa photo organizer software and to simplify Web searches with the Google Toolbar.

WD said the drives are immediately available at its online store and are expected to be available next month at Best Buy stores. The suggested retail price for the 250GB pink WD Passport portable drive is $199.
