Walmart Offering Store Maps For Black Friday CE

Bentonville, Ark.
– Walmart will disperse many of its Black Friday CE sales items throughout
stores on Black Friday, and is providing maps to help shoppers find them.

The discount chain
plans to open its stores to shoppers at midnight this Friday, but is delaying
its CE doorbuster event until 5:00 a.m. To help diffuse crowds, CE sales items
will be available at strategic locations throughout the stores, including the
apparel, food and sporting goods departments.

Customers can
access local store maps via Walmart.com, which indicate where each sale item
will be available. Relocated doorbusters will include a Hewlett-Packard
17.3-inch Dual Core laptop for $398, and a 32-inch Emerson LCD TV and a 15.6-inch
eMachines laptop, each for $198.

The discounter
also boasts “the largest shipment of new Kinect sensors and Xbox 360 bundles,”
which are expected to be in short supply this season.

Walmart said it
will also price-match competitors’ identical Black Friday sale items, and will
provide complimentary snacks for shoppers awaiting the 5:00 a.m. CE sale.

“We’re making this
year’s Friday after Thanksgiving a special, festive event with big savings
starting at midnight, and lots of food and fun for our customers while they
shop and wait for the electronics deals,” said Stephen Quinn, executive VP and
chief marketing officer of Walmart U.S. “Walmart’s ability to easily price-match
competitors’ ads right at the checkout registers mean our customers will save
time and money on Nov. 26.”
