Bentonville, Ark. – Walmart
has named Duncan Mac Naughton chief merchandising officer for U.S. stores.
He succeeds John Fleming,
who left the company in August.
Mac Naughton joined the
company from grocery-store conglomerate Supervalu in 2009 as chief merchandising
officer for Walmart Canada. Last October he was named merchandising executive VP
for Walmart U.S. and Walmart.com.
“We intend to make the
shopping experience more fun for our customers through increasing promotional
intensity,” Mac Naughton said. “In the
end, it is about having great products at everyday low prices.”
