Walmart Holding Week-Long CE Sale

Bentonville, Ark. – Walmart is getting a head start on its holiday promotions with a
week-long CE sales event that begins this Saturday.

The promotion is the
first of several planned CE sales events leading up to the holidays, the
retailer said.

The first “rollback” sale
features a 42-inch Sharp 1080p/120Hz LCD TV for $498, a $298 Hewlett-Packard
notebook, and a Sony Blu-ray Disc player, model BDP-S360, for $148.

The announcement follows
the first of four pre-Black Friday promotions by Sears that began last weekend.

“Each holiday season we
focus on delivering a better price on quality entertainment and electronics, and
this season is no different,” said Gary Severson, Walmart’s entertainment
senior VP. “We’re excited about our electronics event that starts Saturday. It
will be evident through the coming weeks that this year Walmart will offer more
opportunities for our customers to save than ever before.”

Other CE specials in the
Nov. 7-13 sale include:

·        
a
46-inch Sharp LCD for $698 and a 52-inch model for $898 (both 1080p/120Hz);

·        
a
46-inch Panasonic 1080p plasma HDTV for $788;

·        
the Xbox
360 Arcade Console and a $100 Walmart gift card for $199, and;

·        
a $29 up-converting
Magnavox 1080p DVD player (model DP170MGXF).

The HP notebook features
3GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive and Windows 7 Premium.

Walmart warned that quantities
on sale items are limited, and is limiting purchases on certain items to two
per customer.

The chain will also post
its holiday sales at www.walmart.com/christmasshop.
