City
of Industry, Calif. – CLO Systems has released an app and accessory kit for
Apple devices that allows remote control of its Wallwizard motorized TV mounts
via Wi-Fi.
The
WallWizard ControlWand app, available through Apple’s App Store, and a Wi-Fi
USB control module, available at WallWizard dealers, combine to allow users to
toggle between auto, manual and gyro modes to set a TV’s viewing angle. In gyro
mode, the motion of the motorized mount reacts accordingly with the motion of
the iPhone, iPod or iPad, using the device’s accelerometer.
A
version for Android smartphones with Bluetooth will be released shortly, the
company said.
In
auto mode, the app detects when the TV is turned on, tilting the mount to a
preset viewing angle and back “home” again when powered off. Manual mode allows
control of the mount by pressing on the appropriate directional arrow on the
remote.

WallWizard ControlWand graphic user interface is intuitively organized and utilizes
a remote control design that both Apple and smartphone users will feel right at
home using from the start,” said WallWizard sales and marketing VP Craig
Matthews. “ControlWand’s advanced functionality and affordability significantly
raises the bar in making television mount control a much more convenient and
interactive experience.”
The
kit is compatible with WallWizard’s TA55 medium/large tilt and SA52
medium/large swivel motorized mounts.
The
kit has a suggested retail price of $149.
