Vizio Inks Unusual Sponsorship Deal With Fox Sports Net

Irvine, Calif. – Value LCD TV manufacturer Vizio
has agreed to an unusual sponsorship deal through which it will serve as
executive producer for a new show on Fox Sports Net called “Vizio’s Profiles,”
hosted by Laura Okmin.

The company said
the show “represents Vizio’s commitment to develop and own branded content
across traditional broadcast and online media.”

Vizio’s Profiles
will provide in-depth looks at professional football’s biggest stars. The
30-minute weekly show debuts at 11:00 p.m., Oct. 2, on all Fox Sports Network
stations.

The first episode will
focus on Green Bay
quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“The proliferation
of DVRs is forcing every company to reevaluate how it spends its media
dollars,” stated Jason Maciel,  marketing
director at Vizio. “Vizio’s Profiles represents a shift for us to move beyond
traditional media buys to the development and ownership of branded content.”

As executive
producer, Vizio retains the rights to re-air each episode at Vizio.com
following its initial broadcast across on Fox
Sports Network
stations.

“Vizio is driving
its product development to meet the changing way people are consuming media,”
said Maciel. “As part of that shift, we believe we need to change the way we
expose Vizio and its products to potential customers.”

In addition to its
appearance on Friday nights, segments of Vizio’s Profiles will re-air on
Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m, Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. and Fridays at 3:30
p.m.

FSN reaches more
than 85 million homes nationally.

Athletes scheduled
to appear on the series include Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Brian Urlacher, Larry
Fitzgerald and LaDanian Tomlinson, among others.
