Vivitar Adds Waterproof HD Video Camera

introduced Wednesday its 690 HD underwater digital pocket video camera.

The pocket video
camera carries a $60 suggested retail, features a vertical candy-bar design
configuration, and is said to be weather resistant.

It is waterproof
to 10 feet deep, has a built-in 2-inch preview screen, takes video as well as
up to 5-megapixel still shots, records up to 720p/30 fps HD resolution video,
and features digital image stabilization.

Other details
include a built-in microphone and speaker, an SD card slot and 4x zoom range.
It includes software to enable easy uploading to Facebook, MySpace, Flickr,
Picasa Albums, Photobucket, YouTube and more.

The Vivitar 690 includes
an A/V cable to playback images on a TV set.

The camera is
slated to be carried by leading national and regional retailers including:
Target, Staples, Walmart, RadioShack, Kmart and others.
