Walnut, Calif. — ViewSonic introduced Wednesday its TrueView family of digital photo frames.
The TrueView 10.4-inc VFD1020 ($130 estimated selling price), 8-inch VFD820 ($90) and 7-inch VFD720
($80), all offer 4:3 aspect ratios, which ViewSonic said is “the best format to display digital pictures with minimal distortion,” since that is format used most commonly by commercial digital still cameras.
The 8- and 7-inch models both feature 800 by 600 pixel resolution, while the 10.4-inch unit, which is due in June, will offer 1,024 by 768 resolution.
The ebony color frames include 2GB of internal memory and are compatible with CF / MMC / MS memory card readers and also have a USB 2.0 port.
Other features include a calendar display, clock function, a slideshow feature and remote control.
All three models will ship in the second quarter.
ViewSonic also introduced the more affordably priced 7-inch VFA710w-10 ($55) and the 9-inch VFD920w-12 ($100). Both ebony digital photo frames will ship in the second quarter and offer high-resolution displays, ViewSonic said.
