Verizon Reveals House-Brand Tablet

Basking Ridge, N.J. — Verizon Wireless’ first Verizon-brand tablet, the $249 7-inch Ellipsis 7, will be available Nov. 7 through Verizon’s direct and indirect channels.

The carrier positioned the LTE-equipped Android 4.2.2 tablet as “a fully featured tablet at an affordable price.”

The device, exclusive to Verizon, is the first product from Verizon in the Ellipsis family. “The Ellipsis family will not be limited to only tablets,” a spokesman told TWICE.

For a limited time, consumers can get $100 off any tablet offered by Verizon, including the Ellipsis 7, with a new two-year contract.

The company didn’t provide many products details but said it features an HD display, front-facing camera, Amazon Kindle app for e-reading, Redbox Instant to stream movies, and Verizon Messages, which lets users send and receive text messages. The tablet also lets users send customized collages of photos.

Other specs include HD IPS 1,280 by 800 display, 3.2-megapixel main camera, 1GB RAM, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8GB internal storage with SD card slot, 4,000 mAh battery and Mobile Hotspot supporting up to eight Wi-Fi devices.

It measures 7.7 inches by 4.9 inches by 0.4 inches.
