Verizon Adds New Prepaid Plans

Basking
Ridge, N.J. – Verizon Wireless launched its first prepaid-service 4G LTE mobile
hot spot and a new $80 smartphone prepaid plan, which is the carrier’s lowest-priced
prepaid smartphone plan with unlimited talk, unlimited text messaging and 1GB
of data per month.

The
prepaid mobile hot spot is the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L,
made by Novatel and available May 1 at $129 in Verizon’s stores and website. The
device will also be available in the coming weeks at Best Buy, RadioShack and
Walmart.

The
mobile hot spot, which shares a 4G Internet connection with up to five Wi-Fi
devices at a time, will be available with three new prepaid Mobile Broadband
plans: $15/week for 250MB of data, $60/month for 3GB and $90/month for 10GB.

The
new $80 prepaid smartphone plan will be available May 1 with the $169 Samsung
Illusion 3G Android 2.3 smartphone. The plan offers unlimited talk and text
messaging and 1GB of data at $80/month, which is lower than the carrier’s other
prepaid smartphone plan with unlimited talk and texting. That plan, bundled
with other phones, costs $94.99/month for unlimited talk and texting but has an
add-on charge of 99 cents per day for data.

The
$80 plan is available only with the Samsung Illusion, which will be available May
1 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at

www.verizonwireless.com

and, in the coming weeks, in Best Buy, Target, RadioShack and Walmart.
