Variety, Deloitte Host ‘Connected’ CES Panel

Variety and Deloitte are holding a panel during International CES called “Understanding the Connected Consumer.”

The panel, to be held Friday, Jan. 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in room SV222 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature up to five top-level executives from the TV, home entertainment and mobile industries.

Confirmed panelists at press time were David Bishop, president/worldwide, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment; George Linardos, media VP at Nokia; and Heather Dixon, consumer marketing director, Intel Americas Marketing. The panel will be moderated by Ed Moran of Deloitte.

The panel will discuss digitization and changing consumer preferences that continue to transform the media and entertainment industry, Variety said.

Among the topics to be discussed will be:

  • generational preferences for traditional and emerging media devices and platforms;
  • the evolving adoption of mobile devices, social networking and interactive gaming;
  • reactions to, and interactions with, conventional and next-generation advertising; and
  • emerging consumer preferences, and the implications for advertisers, content companies, distributors, developers, and device manufacturers.

Deloitte has timed this panel discussion to coincide with the release of its fourth-edition “State of the Media Democracy” survey, which reveals consumer behaviors across the generations and what their future media preferences are likely to be.
