Milan, Italy — V-Moda formally launched its latest addition to its M-Class series of headphones, the XS.
Designed to be slim and form-fitting, the steel and metal XS headphones “mind the gap” by minimizing the space between the headband and a user’s head, the company said. Features include a patent-pending CliqFold hinge for the foldable headphones, 40mm drivers, memory-foam cushions, dual inputs, and a Kevlar-reinforced cable with universal in-line mic and controls. An optional BoomPro external microphone can be attached to the XS for gamers.
Noted Val Kolton, CEO of V-Moda, in a statement: “While on- and over-ear headphones have gained popularity due to substantial mainstream marketing, I found that many consumers are conscious of their silhouette and don’t like wearing bulky headphones.”
The company said the headphones are able to meet the MIL-STD-810G military testing guidelines, which includes the ability to survive up to 60 drops on concrete.
They are currently available in black or white for a $199 suggested retail. The company also offers customization, raising the price to $212.
