TWICE’s 2013 Excellence In Retailing Awards

Now in its 10th year, the program was created to recognize the industry’s best-of-breed merchants in consumer electronics and major appliances retailing.

Recipients are selected by the editors of TWICE based on merchandising excellence, customer service, store and website design, industry contributions, and operational and marketing initiatives.

Another key criterion, given the soft economy and industry headwinds of the last five years, is the manner in which dealers have responded to the challenging environment.

This year’s winners represent a wide mix of channels and go-to-market strategies, including two national CE chains, two multiregional home-furnishings retailers, a major independent appliance and electronics dealer, and a super-premium installer to the stars.

But despite their differences, there are also commonalities: Three are members of the NATM buying group; three are based in Texas, where a fourth is about to enter; and all share the determination and resourcefulness to succeed in one of the most fiercely competitive businesses.

So hats off to this year’s recipients and good luck to all next year.
