TWICE is pleased to announce the winners of its 2010 Excellence in Retailing Awards program.
The awards series was created seven years ago to recognize the industry’s best-of-breed merchants in consumer electronics and major appliance retailing.
The winners are selected by the editors of TWICE, with one award given for each of five distribution channels and/or business models. Those classifications are:
- Best National Retailer
- Best CE/Appliance Dealer
- Best A/V Specialty Dealer
- Best Consumer Direct Dealer
- Best Vendor Dealer
As in past years, the selection process and final determinations were based on the following criteria:
- Merchandising excellence
- Store design
- Customer service
- Market share
- Industry contributions
- Retail innovation
- Performance during the trailing 12-month period, ended Sept. 30, 2010.
Given the extraordinary headwinds of the past year, financial results were weighted against the manner in which dealers responded to the weak macroeconomic environment, including operational and marketing initiatives.
In addition, TWICE has created a new category, Best Retail Executive, which honors one individual for his creativity, vision, passion and leadership, within both his company and the industry at large.
While the field of worthy candidates was formidable, the final decisions ultimately went to those merchants who engender the best in consumer electronics and major appliances retailing.
The winners set the standard that all will be measured by – and that some may exceed for our next Excellence Awards go-around in 2011.
