Trident Case Revamps Packaging

Ontario, Calif. — Trident Case is rolling out a new packaging program for its rugged mobile device cases that adds a QR code to each box linking to a demonstration video.

“To show just how tough our cases really are, we put a simple QR code on each package that lets shoppers use their phone or tablet right in the store and watch our Tough Test video of that particular model getting battered, bruised and beaten, and coming out unharmed.” said Erin Luzzi, Trident’s marketing VP.

The packaging is the company’s latest move in a campaign to strengthen its retail merchandising strategy. The new packaging boasts a cleaner, scratch-resistant package that has a smaller footprint, text in six languages, the addition of simple benefit icons (eco-friendly, made in America, military grade tough, for example), and a slide-out tray that allows consumers to touch the case before making a purchase decision.

According to Luzzi, giving consumers the option to see a product demo while they are in the store will drive sales and increase the product’s marketability.  “Video is a powerful and popular medium for mobile device owners, and we believe these Tough Test videos will help our retailers sell more cases, plain and simple.”

The new packaging will roll out for all six lines of the company’s protective cases: the Kraken AMS, Aegis, Cyclops, Perseus AMS, Electra and Apollo series.

All Trident cases use bio-enhanced plastic-based products that are degradable, compostable and recyclable, and all are manufactured in the United States.
