Wayne, N.J., – Toshiba America Consumer Products said it has reached a sponsorship agreement with the New York Jets for the 2003-2004 football season to link the cutting-edge nature of high-definition football coverage with the company’s HDTV products.
The partnership, which will have primary emphasis in the New York City marketplace, will promote Toshiba’s high definition integrated and flat-panel TV sets with the HD content available from the National Football League. Toshiba will use the initiative in an integrated marketing campaign that will leverage advertising, the Internet, radio, print, events and in-store promotions, while promoting the industry transition to high-definition products.
Under the sponsorship agreement, Toshiba will partner with a number of Jets players including Vinny Testaverde, Santana Moss and Sean Ellis. In addition to guest appearances at local events and specific product quotes, player collaboration will include a photo shoot with the players demonstrating some of Toshiba’s latest products including its line of portable DVD players.
Toshiba will also be the presenting sponsor of the Weekly Player Diary hosted on the New York Jets official web site (www.newyorkjets.com). As part of an online enter-to-win contest, one fan will have the opportunity to conduct the player interview for one week during the regular season.
Toshiba said it will receive a full page branding advertisement in special sections being run by Newsday and The Daily News as well as the New York Jets 2003 Review Yearbook and 2004 Preview Yearbook.
