Toshiba Launches $1,200 3LCD Projector

Irvine, Calif. — Toshiba’s Digital Products Division launched Tuesday an aggressively priced 3LCD projector, offering 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, 1024-by-768p resolution and a three-year warranty.

The TLP-XE30U is shipping at a $1,192 suggested retail price and is said to offer improved image quality and advanced features including quick power shutdown and “blackboard” wall color adjustment.

“Toshiba has added the TLP-XE30U to its award-winning lineup of projectors to make presentation solutions more affordable for business professionals, educators and home digital entertainment enthusiasts,” stated Jane Poon, Toshiba America Information Systems Digital Products Division. “Toshiba constantly strives to provide our customers with the highest quality projector technology at the lowest possible price, the TLP-XE30U 3LCD projector is backed by a three-year standard limited warranty.”

The “blackboard” function allows color adjustments for projection on non-screen surfaces, such as a painted walls or blackboards. Users select a wall color, such as green, black, brown, blue or beige, and the projector automatically corrects the color for a clearer display in almost any environment.

The quick-power shutdown feature allows the unit to power off once disconnected from the outlet with no cool-down time required.

Automatic vertical keystone correction projects a square image even when the projector is placed at a steep offset angle of plus or minus 30 degrees to the screen. Also included is a digital zoom function and one-touch setup.

Toshiba said it is now selling the TLP-XE30U projector through authorized distributors, dealers, VARs, mail-order outlets, retail stores and www.explore.toshiba.com.
