New York — A robust housing market, new store openings and a compelling product story helped fuel an 11.7 percent increase in major appliance sales last year for the nation’s 100 largest white-goods dealers.
Together, these leading majap merchants sold $24.1 billion in washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, room air conditioners and other major appliances in 2005, up from $21.6 billion during the prior year.
The tallies come courtesy of TWICE’s Top 100 Appliance Retailers report, our annual examination of the sales performances, store counts and industry rankings of white-goods’ biggest dealers, prepared with market research partner The Stevenson Company.
