Amsterdam, The Netherlands — TomTom announced it has teamed with Google Maps so users can search for business addresses on their PC and send the address directly to a TomTom.
“The ability to search, find and send information from the Web to a TomTom is something we have been investing in for some time now. We are pleased to work together with Google Maps on this personalization functionality,” said Eric Pité, product management VP.
Google Maps local search pages now have a “Send to GPS” feature so users can select the information they want to transfer and click on the “Send to GPS” option. Users must also connect their TomTom to a PC and run TomTom Home software.
TomTom will continue to explore other partnerships with third parties, it said.
