Concord, Mass. –
is rolling out a discounted roadside
assistance service for owners of its portable navigation devices (PNDs) and free
customization of select new PNDs with custom graphics, artwork or photos.
The Roadside
Assistance service is available to U.S. and Canadian owners at discounted
prices to owners of any TomTom PND or TomTom iPhone app. The service covers towing,
flat tire repair, jump starts, vehicle lockout service, fuel delivery and the
like. It’s available through Cross Country Automotive Services, one of the
largest providers of dispatched roadside assistance services in North America, TomTom
said. Consumers can choose between an annual membership fee or per-incident
fee.

Free PND
customization is available to consumers who buy any of five PNDs through
TomTom’s website. Downloadable celebrity voices can also be added to any order.
Through the program, consumers select from hundreds of professional designs, custom
art, and colors or choose a personal photo for printing directly onto the PND.
The printing is done by custom printer CafePress.
Unlike skins, the
designs are printed directly onto the device, so consumers can’t customize a
PND that they currently own of customize a device purchased at a retail
location, a spokesperson said.
The customizable
PNDs are the EASE (black or white), XL 350 TM, XL 340 S, XXL 550 TM and XL 540
S.
