Synaptics Touchpad Introduced

LAS VEGAS
– Synaptics will exhibit its latest touchpad series at
International CES this week in booth 35364 in the South Hall

.

The new series is called the ClickPad 3 buttonless, multi-touch
touchpad with Scrybe. The device is intended for OEM and ODM for inclusion with
computing devices.

The ClickPad 3 has about 40 percent more usable surface area due
to the fact that it is button-less and is ergonomically designed to include a
wrist rest when used in a notebook.

The ClickPad 3 comes with Synaptics Gesture Suite 9.4 software
and Scrybe technology, representing “the latest in multi-touch control that
creates gesture workflows that are more fun and efficient for consumers,” the
company said.

Scrybe also contains customizable short-hand gestures enabling
users to communicate with the computer strictly through the touchpad. The user
can control Web access, multimedia playback and photo manipulation.

The ClickPad Series 3 is a complete drop-in mechanical systems
module for manufacturers of laptops, and it is small enough to fit in netbooks.

Bulk pricing and availability information can be obtained from
the company at its booth during the show.
