Swann Offers Ruggedized Portable Surveillance Cam

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. — Swann Security is offering an all-in-one portable, weatherproof monitoring system, the OutbackCam, with a 2-megapixel color camera and built-in DVR.

The camera boasts night vision capability from 15 infrared LEDs, and recording is triggered either by motion detection or a pre-scheduled date/time that is activated on the internal menu and LCD display.

All surveillance footage is stored on the internal DVR, which comes with a 2GB removable SD card, but is capable of handling a 32GB card.

The camera and DVR are housed in rugged, all-weather case with multifaceted mounting options, and can be mounted to trees, posts or flat surfaces with an included strap.

Users can choose whether they want to record AVI videos or JPEG still pictures, in black-and-white or color. A USB port is included in the housing for backing up footage. The OutbackCam runs on 4 AA batteries.

Other features include: day, time and moon phase stamping for precise tracking; an internal LCD display; 640 by 480 video resolution at 30 fps; and still image resolutions of 1,600 by 1,200, or 1,280 by 1,024.

Swann’s OutbackCam has a suggested retail price of $149.99 and will be available through Swann’s network of retailers, which includes Fry’s Electronics, RadioShack, Menards and Brandsmart USA.
