Niagara Falls, Canada — Home security vendor SVAT Electronics announced a new 2.4GHz wireless video monitoring system.
The GigaXtreme 5200 ships with one camera and a 2.5-inch LCD monitor in a choice of blue, silver or black. The camera features a built-in microphone and the company’s “Nitevu” infrared technology for monitoring locations in darkness.
The unit can attach to PCs with a video capture card, to televisions and VCR/DVRs via included A/V cables. The camera and monitor accept AA batteries and ships with two AC adapters. The unit can connect to up to three cameras.
The 5200 is shipping this month for a suggested $279.95.
