Niagara Falls, N.Y. — SVAT Electronics will ship a new do-it-yourself home-security system to dealers in December.
The Defender Sentinel 10 combines a 320GB digital video recorder, 19-inch LCD monitor and four wired surveillance cameras. The DVR can be accessed via the Internet for remote monitoring of video and supports a total of up to eight cameras.
The DVR can record up to 480 days of footage and features motion-activated recording, email alarm alerts, simultaneous playback and recording, and a remote control.
The CCD-based cameras are capable of recording at night.
The Sentinel 10 will retail for $2,229.
