Studio Experience, the Poulsob, Wash.-based division of home theater display distributor Boxlight, will unveil its latest full high-definition DLP home theater front projector based on Texas Instruments’ HD2 DLP chip.
Positioned as a high-end “professional home theater” display, the Premiere 50HD features 1,280 by 720 pixel resolution in native 16:9 format from the HD2 chip.
The unit, which is shipping now at a $9,999 suggested retail, incorporates Faroudja’s DCDi video de-interlacing technology, providing 3:2 pull-down for smooth, sharp images. Brightness is listed at 1,000 ANSI lumens and the contrast ratio is listed at 1,700:1. Inputs include a digital DVI with HDCP content protection jack.
The projector adds a proprietary four-quadrant keystone correction system called “eWARP” to allow the unit to be set at multiple placement angles while presenting a perfectly squared-up image.
The compact projector weighs 11 pounds, enabling easy room to room portability.
Studio Experience offers a three-year parts and labor warranty, which can be upgraded for up to four years of total coverage, and a 120-day or 500 hours (whichever comes first) lamp guarantee. All units are also covered by 24/7 free technical support for the life of the product.
