Stereo East Joins HES

Frisco, Texas — Stereo East Home Theater, a 30-year-old systems integrator and low-voltage contractor, has joined the Home Entertainment Source (HES) specialty buying group.

The Texas-based business is one of more than 30 new members to join HES this year.

“HES continues to expand, and Stereo East is an excellent addition to our family,” said HES executive VP Jim Ristow. “We couldn’t be happier that Stereo East is on board, and believe that president Gary Montagna and VP David Berman and their team will provide business leadership that will enhance our already well respected and ever-expanding membership, not to mention bring sizable volume and integration excellence.”

Berman was the former training and public relations director for the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group.

In a statement, he said, “This strategic partnership will offer the tools and resources necessary to improve our profitability and expand into new markets. HES’s combined buying power, coupled with strong vendor relationships and aggressive programs, are designed to help independent dealers like ourselves succeed in an extremely competitive marketplace.”

HES, an A/V specialty group, along with the Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group), comprise ProSource, the 500-member, $3.1 billion A/V and integration division of the BrandSource buying organization.

While PRO and HES maintain separate entities, ProSource leverages the assets of all three organizations to offer unmatched benefits to its members and represents as a single, combined and focused business to the vendor community, the groups said.
