Starpower Hosts Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Prosper, Texas — Starpower, a premium A/V retailer and installer, will host its sixth annual Invitational Golf Tournament here at the Gentle Creek Golf Club on Monday, Sept.17.

The charity event calls for a $600 entry fee and will benefit The Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation which helps to support low-income single mothers in the Dallas area.

According to Starpower, more than $100,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs at the tournament including a 42-inch plasma TV. There will also be a designated hole on the course where if a player gets a hole in one, the player will receive $20,000 and the Safety Net foundation will get $10,000.

Attendees will have the chance to meet Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys. The invitation also said Hooters Girls, Dallas Stars Ice Girls and other cheerleaders will be on hand “delivering you hot wings and drinks out on the course and cheering you on to victory.”

A Nike Golf Launch Monitor will be available for players to practice their golf swing. And, according to Starpower, “the Jack Daniels Sampling Bar and the masseuse will keep you loose.”

Following the tournament, Art Sellinger, a two-time national long-drive champion, will perform his show “Art of Long Driving.”
