Sprint Unveils Galaxy S5, Gear Prices

Overland Park, Kan. – Sprint plans April 11 availability of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 smartphone through direct and indirect channels at $199 after $50 mail-in rebate with two-year service agreement and new line or eligible upgrade.

The carrier will also offer the device though its Easy Pay payment plan at an unsubsidized price of $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $27.09 for a total of $650.16 to well-qualified buyers. Easy Pay is available through Sprint’s direct channels and all third-party retailers except for big-box stores, a spokesperson said.

 Carriers T-Mobile, AT&T and U.S. Cellular have also announced pricing and availability times.

 Sprint’s version of the S5 will incorporate high-speed Sprint Spark network technology.

 Sprint also committed to April 11 availability through its direct channels of the Samsung Gear Fit fitness band for $199, Gear 2 Neo smart watch for $199, and Gear 2 for $299.

As an added inducement to buy Sprint’s S5, the carrier is promoting a limited-time offer. Consumers who buy the S5 on a Sprint Framily Plan with Easy Pay will get a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 free with data-plan activation with two-year contract.

Beginning today, customers can visit Sprint Stores to reserve the S5.
