Vista, Calif. — The Sound United division of DEI Holdings tapped industry veteran Randy Waynick as chief sales officer.

Waynick, formerly with such companies as Sony and Vizio, will oversee the strategic direction and execution of global sales operations for Sound Unted’s Definitive Technology, Polk and Boom audio brands.

In his most recent position, Waynick was business development and sales VP at accessories maker LifeProof. Before that, he was worldwide sales executive VP at Aura Sound and Vizio’s chief sales officer. He is also a 25-year veteran at Sony, where he started as a field trainer and became senior VP of the home products group; he directed the marketing of Sony's television, home audio and video offerings. At Sony, he also spearheaded business and product development, product planning and retail communications with a focus on HDTV and Blu-ray hardware.

Sound United said Waynick will work with the management of each of its audio brands to develop a sales roadmap “that stays true to each brand's unique culture, product philosophy and market focus.” He will also work with channel partners and consumers to provide products differentiated by each of Sound United's brands, the company added.

The company’s previous chief sales officer recently left the company.
