Sony To Team With EPA On Recycling

San Diego — Sony said today that it would participate in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National TV Recycling Challenge.

The program is an attempt by the EPA and electronics manufacturers to divert a wave of analog TVs from hitting the landfills during the digital transition.

Sony said it would collect and “responsibly recycle” Sony-brand televisions free of charge through its Take Back program, which consists of 270 drop-off locations across the country.

Other brands can be recycled at these locations for a fee.
