Sony Ships Wi-Fi Enabled S-Frame

San Diego – Sony introduced Friday an S-Frame digital photo frame
enhanced with built-in Wi-Fi capability.

S-Frame model DPF-WA700 (available
now for a $160 suggested retail
) features a 7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen
that is capable of playing back digital photos and AVCHD and MPEG-4 HD video
clips.

Without the help of a PC, the Wi-Fi frame lets consumers download
photos directly into the device.

The DPF-WA700 can sync with the new PlayMemories network service
(available spring 2012) that will allow users to view their content from
various devices, Facebook and email.

The latest 100 photos from each service can be downloaded into
the frame’s 1GB of internal memory automatically, Sony said.

Digital images can also be loaded onto the frame’s internal
memory with several types of media cards, including SD, SDHC, SDXC
and Memory Stick PRO Duo.

The frame’s vTuner Internet Radio allows listening to favorite
Internet radio stations, using a built-in 360 degree monaural speaker. This can
be used as background music for picture slideshows.

The frame’s Wi-Fi connection will also pull up the latest weather
updates from AccuWeather.com.
